Verbs that are often used to describe Trey’s influence and presence: collaborator, catalyst, community builder, change agent. Passionate to encourage triple-bottom-line economics (people, planet and profit) with all of his projects, Trey listens and offers a wealth of experience to ignite and realize the visions in the hearts of his clients and team.

Trey joined a CBS News Television affiliate south of San Francisco after his graduate work completion in International Policy Studies. He quickly took on producing and writing a “World Summary” segment for the nightly news while shooting and producing numerous story segments that were aired on the CBS national network. Several years later he started One Step Productions, producing numerous series programs that appeared on the Public Television circuit alongside television pilots, focusing on the stories of people overcoming obstacles—often life-threatening—that changed their lives for the better.

Continually praised for his ability to teach and inspire with his storytelling via film and video, Trey was invited to bring this skill into the classroom. For many years Trey worked with student Producers of campus-based television programming as well as with his colleagues in schools both in Hawaii and California. His vision for change and improving the learning environment led to a career in education leadership, culminating in his role as a Principal and leader in both the California Academy and statewide Home School environments.

Trey developed and Executive Produced and hosted a monthly magazine television program, Humboldt Network News Magazine Hour, produced collaboratively with local area film producers and directors. He was regularly engaged as a consultant on multimedia projects and web-based branding of California and later, NC businesses. This was particularly demonstrated for Sundance Power Systems, a southeast region renewable energy company specializing in solar electric, solar thermal, wind, micro-hydro and radiant floor systems for commercial and residential installations.

Recent development and sales of scripts, feature films, documentary and web-based videos have helped to fuel Trey’s ongoing commitment to collaboration with his production collective, Three Flames Productions.

Trey holds a Master of Arts from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in International Policy Studies and Comparative Literature and a Bachelor of Arts triple major from Willamette University in International Studies, Psychology and English. He also holds teaching and administrative credentials from Chapman and Humboldt State Universities for the State of California. He has attended semester-long programs at the Sorbonne in Paris and in Kenya, at the University of Nairobi.

Father of two grown daughters, he continues to be inspired by the opportunity to learn, support and empower individuals, businesses and groups to realize their vision and thrive !
